Amington Fete 2010
This year's Fete is expected to be bigger and better than ever with fairgound rides for children and plenty to keep everyone occupied including lots of games and stalls. Street Dynamix are back and this year we're adding rapper 'Lazy Boy' as well as local dance troupes and Tamworth Talent winner, Michael Coleman. There will be a Farm Corner and horse and poiny exhibits. As it's the World Cup we're also hoping to have the penalty speed contest again that was so popular last year. The Fancy Dress theme is 'Amington by the Seaside' and we'll be looking for the schools with most entrants as well as for best dressed winners. The Fete will be officially opened by our new Mayor, Lee Bates, at 12 noon.

Holiday Club
This year's Holiday Club: Starship Discovery was a great success with 50 children attending at some point in the week.
We launched into space with teams like 'Jolly Jumping Jupiters' and the 'Eggy, Eggy Earthlings'. Activities included making mini rockets that felw into space - well, popped up from the ground... and Starship Trooper masks. On Friday Shaun came and we had games outside. The theme was around the life of Jesus' friend, Peter - his strengths and weaknesses. Thanks to Greenacres for the use of the school.
