Jungle Jamboree - 2011 Holiday Club
This took place from 22nd - 26th August at Greenacres school and was good fun and a great success. Introduced each day by Indiana Mike we sang, danced (well, aerobics), followed the trail of the lost book through the jungle and tried to keep up with the Watt family as Grandma Watt, Rick and the family got into some interesting fixes but saved by the tribal Chief!
The crafts kept everyone occupied in between times including a jungle bird, warrior masks and shields and edible necklaces!
Thanks to Moira and her team the week went really well and people are already talking about next year!

Holy Week & Easter 2011
Good Friday Labyrinth
This event took place in church during the afternoon. Chairs were cleared and a path placed on the floor to follow around stations reflecting on aspects of the cross. Organised by Sonya and Andrew Britton it attracted a good number of people and provoked discussion and inter-activity with the theme.

Easter Day Services,
10.30 a.m.(top) and 6.30 p.m.(bottom).
Photos taken outside the church after the services. On Palm Sunday nails were given to everybody who attended services. On Easter Day these were left at home and people brought back flowers to decorate the empty cross as we recall the risen Christ at Easter. Alleluia!

Amington Fete - June 2010
This year's Fete was another great success with balmy sunshine and plenty of activity. The theme was 'Amington at the Seaside' and as you can see children loved the sandpit and for everyone there were plenty of stalls (over 40) and games to play. The Fete is not a profit-making event and we barely break even, but even so with help from Staffordshire County Council this year, we were able to provide four charities in the community who help with the elderly, a small donation. These were presented from last year's funds to the following: Amington Friendship Club (£100), Amington Forget-me-Nots (£100), Tuesday Chatter (bereavement) £100 and Magnolia residents (who asked for only £25).

Holiday Club - August 2010
The theme for this year's Holiday Club was 'Monsters Stink'. The children came up with some fantastic monster masks and we enjoyed some really messy games (see pics.). We used excerpts from the film 'Monsters Inc' to help us focus on the monsters in our lives of fear, loneliness and bullying. We used some Bible verses to help us think about What Jesus and other Bible characters did when things looked bleak. On Friday we had a games morning and Shaun and Alex came to help. It was chaotic at times and everyone (including leaders) took part! We're already thinking about what we might do next year. Any ideas ... tell Moira!
